Support the Band

Fall 2011

Dear RCB Friends,

We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you—so thank you for allowing us to continue performing some of our (and, hopefully, your) favorite styles of music. It’s because of your financial support that we can offer “music for everyone.”

Our Eisemann Center concert series is one that we look forward to because it gives us a chance to put on our fancy clothes and play in a world-class venue for an appreciative audience. Our continuing quest is to uphold John Philip Sousa’s desire to play family-friendly band concerts for the entire community.

Our free concerts include two concerts at the Richardson Senior Center; music for the opening ceremony at Santa’s Village; a pre-fireworks concert on July 4th at Breckinridge Park; and bi-weekly summer concerts on the Civic Center lawn beginning Memorial Day weekend. Speaking of our previous Summer concert series, I would be remiss if I didn’t express my amazement at the number of fans in attendance during the hottest summer on record! We are truly grateful and honored that you cared enough to brave the heat.

Now, here’s how you can help us—make a tax-deductible donation so that we can continue to perform a wide variety of material from the Great American Songbook and beyond...George Gershwin, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, John Williams, Leroy Anderson, and, of course, Sousa. You can find contribution envelopes in the lobby area after today’s concert. For detailed information about our band, how you can support it, and our complete performance calendar, please visit our web site at www.richardsoncommunityband.org.

We sincerely hope you will join us for our 2011-2012 performances, and we thank you for your generous patronage.

Warmly,

Alan Braun, President
